Students shouldn’t have to do homework

Do you like homework? I don’t!  Homework is when we have to do school work at home.  We have already spent 6 hours a day learning and building our knowledge.  Why should we have to do more school work at home? I believe that students shouldn’t have to do homework.  My reasons are simple. Firstly, it can cause stress. Secondly, it takes up time for extracurricular activities. Finally, studies show that there is no educational improvements for doing homework.

Firstly, according to Stanford University 56% of students consider doing homework stressful. Too much homework can cause a lack of sleep, headaches, exhaustion and even weight loss.  It can also cause poor eating habits. I always stress about getting growlings from my parents and teacher if it isn’t completed.

Secondly I’d want to play rather than do homework . I mean who wants to go home and have to do work, children should be able to go home and play games or have a snack, not have to do homework. Imagine this: your at school it just finished you go home and sit down and you want to rest but your mum comes in and says “get out of bed and do your homework” .and all you want to do is rest but you have homework.

Finally, there is absolutely zero scientific research in the world  that supports the benefit of homework. A Professor named Harris Cooper, one of the most respected researchers on homework says  “there is no proof that any homework improves the movement of primary school students”.

In conclusion, students shouldn’t have to do homework because it can cause stress, leading to exhaustion, lack of sleep and bad eating habits.  It takes up your social time with family and friends and finally it has been scientifically proven that it has no benefits to our overall education.  For these reasons I firmly believe that students shouldn’t have to do homework.

My Holidays

`Neko Title Monday Tuesday 30 Thursday 32

Title - My magnificent holidays “Are we there yet?” I groaned .   “Yes” mum said. I said “really” “yes”  I During my holidays I went to Auckland it was awesome I loved it. “Today is going to be great“ I thought. Noo it wasn’t, we were supposed to go to the movie but no we  ended up having a stay home day because we were “tired” but I wasn’t my sister fell asleep on the plane so did my brother #so they weren’t and never go to sleep until night so my plan was ruined. Well at least the whole week isn’t ruined I still have the rest of the week. Come on today we just going to the shop “can I stay home please”  “me to” said my brother “ yeah you to” I said I forgot “no”said my mum but I really wanted to stay home. I must have sleeped on the way because when I opened my eyes we were there. but who cares .I was awake now and we were out of the car and in the shop ‘you can look at the new toys” mum explained “aye aye captain” I was excited then I  spoke “where are they” mum laughed ”I’LL show you” when we got there It was huge I had a lot to look at so I got back up. I stated to use imagination and pretended I was in a enemy base and had to report what we soor finally at approximately 10:30 we finished and made for it and run to our getaway car to our base/home It was awesome we had the best lunch we had cheese sandwiches it was delicious. After lunch we had an easter hunt the hunt was round the back of the house  while i was outside a found lot’s of spider webs after a short time of looking I finally found them all they were in very high places my brother had them in places that weren’t on the ground but not up high ether my sisters were on the ground “can I eat them mum please”? I asked “no later”mum explained “ your cousin is coming soon so wait till he’s here ok” “ok” I moaned That night I felt really sick from eating all that chocolate I had a lot of it “ I think it’s best If I have no more chocolate”I grumbled “me to” my brother agreed with me. And we fell asleep having great dreams.  I had an outstanding holiday when I left for home I announced “ I had a pretty jolly holiday”
